The Heritage Master Plan

Responding to Urban American’s desire to reposition Schomburg Plaza Towers from that of a publicly subsidized housing project to a market-based rental complex, our design focuses on the resident’s experience from the street, through the lobby to the front door of their apartment.Upon entering the new transparent lobby addition, residents and visitors are welcomed by a security/concierge desk, and directed to one of the two tower lobbies, each of which have been redesigned and expanded to create full views of Fifth Avenue and Central Park. Opened planned lobbies relate contextually with the new museum’s entrance plaza across 110th Street and allow for maximum visibility of the Schomburg Plaza Towers site.
