Murray Hill Mews Health Club
The transformation of the recreational facility atop Murray Hill Mews to a new modern facility involved both its re-planning and expansion. The oversized and under-utilized locker rooms were reduced in size and re-planned to allow for the addition of a children’s playroom, separate from the existing lounge. Development of a much-needed wet corridor to and from the pool and the expansion of the upper level exercise room were accomplished by the facility’s expansion onto the east roof terrace.
Through the use of translucent safety glass wall panels, which acoustically separate the public corridor from the children’s playroom, and the children’s playroom from the lounge, the sense of an “open plan” is maintained throughout the design. Natural light can be seen from the public corridor eliminating the present narrow and confining corridor.Finished in beech wood and translucent glass walls, with sea foam green carpeting and beige wall covering, the facility’s ambiance is both modern and warm.
