Presented with the challenge to transform a traditionally-styled commercial building lobby into one consistent with the building’s new contemporary glass façade, the exterior glass panels were extended into the lobby where they reflect the three-dimensional plaster panels introduced on the opposite wall, thus visually widening the space.

Modifications were made to the existing dark green marble floor by infilling the traditionally contrasting borders and introducing white marble pavers to reflect light at the entrance. A new back-lit amber colored concierge desk was placed towards the center of the lobby and becomes a contrasting architectural element within the new modern space.
